Our Executive Board is responsible for the operational management of the business and ensuring Aquila Heywood’s long-term strategic objectives are met.
Simon has been with Aquila Heywood since 2006 having carried out a number of senior strategic, product management and customer relationship roles. Simon has over 25 years' experience in the pensions and financial services software and services industry having held senior positions at Marlborough Stirling and Wildnet. Prior to this he founded Oxygen which was a leader in CRM solutions for Financial Services.
Martin qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse and has since held a number of senior finance and management posts for major listed companies including WPP, 3i, Abbey National and Prudential both in the UK and abroad, and in a policy role as a civil servant working with the UK government, the EU in Brussels and the OECD. Prior to joining Aquila Heywood he was a portfolio Finance Director with the FD Centre. He is a trustee for the Community Foundation for Surrey.
Steve joined Aquila Heywood in May 2016 and is keen to see Agile and lean capabilities adopted within Aquila Heywood to ensure user-centric, robust products continue to be delivered to our customers. An ex-Chief in the Royal Navy, Henley MBA graduate, and expert in Agile delivery, Steve brings a wealth of Agile delivery experience to the DevOps Division and a passion for lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
Mark has overall responsibility for Aquila Heywood's customer relationship activities. He is responsible for ensuring an efficient enterprise-wide customer relationship focus across all of our market sectors.
Mark has held a number of senior management roles at Aquila Heywood since joining in 2009. Prior to this his focus was in operational management, latterly as Global Operations Director, Financial Services Division at Detica.
Michael is our Group Business Development Director and has overall responsibility for new business revenue growth. He has over 18 years' experience in Strategic Alliance, Business Development and Product Innovation roles across EMEA and North America for businesses including GMC, Microsoft, Multimap and Virgin Media. Michael has a proven track record in establishing new markets and alliance strategies, and delivering new revenue streams. His commercial experience is essential for our next phases of development.
Louise is our Director of Professional Services in Altrincham and has overall responsibility for the Consultancy Services, Programme Management and Implementation strategies relating to our Altair product set. Louise has been with Aquila Heywood since 2006 and has a wealth of experience, having carried out a number of senior operational and strategic roles across the business. Louise has a proven track record in project delivery and implementation of change programmes, alongside a broad knowledge of our customers and solutions.
Kaisa is our Director of Professional Services for Administrator product. She has 15 years' experience in enterprise software implementation and consultation services, working with various financial services companies and large corporates. Since joining Aquila Heywood in 2011, Kaisa has held a number of roles in the Professional Services team including lead consultant, project manager and team leader.
Chris is responsible for setting the strategy for Aquila Heywood's suite of products and services focusing on how they can bring value to customers. He has nearly 20 years' experience in Financial Services working in the UK and internationally including Japan, India, Australia and across Europe. He previously worked for EDS and HP and brings a wealth of experience having worked in implementation, business development and strategic roles.
Laura is our Group Director of Brand and has overall responsibility for Aquila Heywood’s marketing and branding strategy.
An ex-IBM, PWC and general insurance brand and communications strategist, Laura brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in reinvigorating established brands and launching new brands to market across insurance, technology and healthcare sectors.
Michael has overall responsibility for all 'People and Talent' activities at Aquila Heywood. His role encompasses the design and implementation of the People Strategy in order to promote talent and performance throughout the business. Alongside a Master's degree in Occupational Psychology, Michael brings Human Resource experience from both software and media environments and has developed teams that promote engagement of employees across all facets of the business.

Heywood was formed in 1975, starting out as a small Liverpool firm of consulting actuaries.
The ground-breaking PMS6000 pensions administration platform (Watson Wyatt) quickly built a reputation for the most functionally-rich system available on the market, eventually becoming the cornerstone for an independent software house - Aquila.
Demand for an independent software house fuelled a management buyout and in 1998 Aquila was born.
In 2002, the two companies joined forces to become the largest UK provider of life and pensions administration systems.
Aquila Heywood was chosen to take part in the pensions dashboard industry initiative, as one of the technology partners.

Aquila Heywood has a strong focus on quality. In the UK we are certified to ISO 9001:2015 covering all company processes and ISO 27001:2013 for information security. We undergo a formal external quality audit every six months to maintain these.
